USAID Office of American Schools and Hospitals Abroad
Arlington, Virginia, USA

USAID’s Office of American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) is pleased to announce its 2017 Annual Partners Conference will be held October 30 - 31, 2017 (Monday – Tuesday). The conference will be held at the Ritz Carlton Pentagon City Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. The theme of this year's conference will be ASHA: 60 Years of Achievement. This will be a showcase of the things that our partners have accomplished through their partnership with USAID and an opportunity to talk about best practices that could be useful to future, new, and old partners.

Please register online here, no later than October 20, 2017. There will be a 250 person cap on registration this year so please register early.

The Ritz Carlton Pentagon City Hotel has provided a room block for individuals who wish to stay at the hotel. The special room rate of $231/night expires October 6, 2017 or when the block is sold-out, whichever comes first. Please click here to reserve a hotel room using the Group Code: GVYGVYA. For more information about this hotel please visit the hotel's website

There is no registration fee for the conference. However, due to space limitations, there will only be 250 spots available. ASHA requests that only two representatives per organization (i.e. two from USO and two from OSI) register to attend. Each participant is responsible for their own expenses, including travel and accommodation.

Partners with active awards can request a meeting with your Agreement Officer’s Representative (AOR) to discuss active projects on November 1, 2017. These meetings will be held at USAID’s Washington Learning Center, a short metro or cab ride from the hotel. Requests for these meetings are included in the online registration form and must be received by October 6, 2017. Meeting requests are assigned based on priority of the topic and the availability of ASHA staff.

ASHA is also excited to provide three opportunities for you to share your work at our conference this year:

Photo Contest:

As the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words”. Help us tell the ASHA story and the accomplishments of our partners (you!) in improving healthcare and education worldwide with photos. The deadline for submission is October 6, 2017. Please click here for Photo Contest requirements and more information.

Success Story Contest:

Success Stories are an essential way ASHA shares its partners’ success with the world. These stories add a human element and go beyond what commodities or construction projects were funded and reveal the project’s impact on individuals and communities. The deadline for submission is October 6, 2017. Please clickhere for Success Story Contest requirements and more information.

Video Contest:

Videos combine the visual element of photos with the narrative of a success story. They are easily sharable and an inspiring video is not only a reflection of your work but a call to action. The deadline for submission is October 6, 2017. Please click here for Video Contest requirements and more information.
