The student will participate in a 2-yr study on improving the understanding of the performance of triploid Walleye (Sander vitreus) stocked in reservoirs, to provide information needed to manage Walleye in the western U.S. while protecting sensitive native fish species.

Qualifications:

  • Required - B.S. degree in fisheries, ecology, biology, or related field; cumulative undergraduate GPA ≥ 3.0; combined average score > 70th percentile on the Verbal and Quantitative sections of the GRE; strong writing, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Desired - experience sampling fish with electrofishing, gill nets and seines; boat handling experience; experience with fish age/growth, diet analysis, trophic isotopes.
