An AquaFish Innovation Lab partner, Ben Belton, from the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Resource Economics at Michigan State University (MSU) was recently recognized in an article by the Myanmar Times for his presentation at the Myanmar Fisheries and Aquaculture Research Symposium hosted by WorldFish.

Belton and other researchers at MSU, including Dr. Bill Taylor and PhD student So-Jung Youn, are relatively new AquaFish Innovation Lab collaborators. With the support of the AquaFish Innovation Lab, they are evaluating and analyzing survey data previously collected by Belton (including in-depth interviews with over 250 actors in aquaculture value chain and surveys from 1,100 households) to explore the importance of inland fisheries in supplying micronutrients to the Burmese diet and their role in food security across Burma.
