AquaFish Innovation Lab partners from Can Tho University in Vietnam and University of Rhode Island in the US published an article, titled "Weaning methods using formulated feeds for snakehead larvae" in Aquaculture Research. The study investigated alternative weaning methods to reduce dependence on smaller, low-cost, wild-caught fish traditionally used as feed in snakehead culture. In the Journal of the World Aquaculture Society, AquaFish Innovation Lab researchers from University of Connecticut - Avery Point published a study titled “Linkages and trust in the value chain for small-scale aquaculture in Asia”. This paper examined trust and linkages between producers and traders in small-scale aquaculture systems to better understand the challenges and opportunities in the system. AquaFish Innovation Lab researchers from Auburn University published a study titled “Assessing the reliability of water-test kits for use in pond aquaculture” in the Journal of the World Aquaculture Society. This study examined the utility of several water-analysis kits for use by farmers to make decisions regarding their aquaculture ponds. In the Journal of the Food Distribution Research Society, an AquaFish Innovation Lab researcher from Alabama A&M University published a study, titled "Assessment of price volatility in the fisheries sector in Uganda". The study investigated the degree to which pricing changed (price volatility) for both farm-raised and wild-harvest African catfish in Ugandan markets from 2006-2013. AquaFish Innovation Lab partners from NC State University published a review article, titled "Assessing the functional role of leptin in energy homeostasis and the stress response in vertebrates" in Frontiers of Endocrinology. Leptin is a hormone that helps control appetite, growth, and stress in vertebrate animals, including fish. Two articles by AquaFish Innovation Lab researchers were recently published in the World Aquaculture Magazine. AquaFish Innovation Lab partners from Agriculture and Forestry University in Nepal and University of Michigan in the US contributed the article titled, "Successful Breeding of Sahar Tor Putitora in Sub-tropical Nepal." While partners from Bangladesh Agricultural University published an article on older work, titled "Mud Crab Aquaculture and Fisheries in Coastal Bangladesh."
